Workshop on Kachin Narratives 2025

ကချင်လူမျိုးနှင့် ၎င်းတို့၏ ကိုယ်ပိုင်လက္ခဏာများသည် အနောက်တိုင်းပညာရှင်များအတွက် လေ့လာရန် ဘာသာရပ်တစ်ခု အဖြစ် ရှိနေသည်မှာ ကြာပြီဖြစ်သည်။ သို့သော် ဆယ်စုနှစ်ပေါင်းများစွာ ကြာမည့်နေပြီဖြစ်သော ပြည်တွင်းစစ်၊ လေကြောင်း တိုက်ခိုက်မှုနှင့် မြန်မာစစ်တပ်၏ ရက်စက်ကြမ်းကြုတ်မှုများကြောင့် ကချင်လူမျိုးများအနေဖြင့် ၎င်းတို့ကိုယ်တိုင် ကိုယ်စားပြုရန်နှင့် ၎င်းတို့၏ အမြင်များနှင့် ပညာရပ်များကို ပိုမိုကျယ်ပြန့်သော ကမ္ဘာဆီသို့ တင်ပြရန် ရုန်းကန်နေကြရသလို မြန်မာပြည်တွင်း၌ပင် တန်းတူပါဝင်ဖော်ပြခွင့်ရရန် အလှမ်းဝေးနေသေးသည်။ ကချင်လူမှုအသိုင်းအဝိုင်းအတွင်းနှင့် ကချင်လူမျိုး အဖြစ် သတ်မှတ်သူများ၏ ဇာတိမြေပေါ်တွင် ဖြစ်ပွားခဲ့သော လူမှုရေး၊ နိုင်ငံရေးနှင့် ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်ဆိုင်ရာ အပြောင်းအလဲများကို ပြန်ပြောင်းစဉ်းစားကြည့်ပါက ထိုသို့ကိုယ်တိုင်ဖော်ထုတ်တင်ပြခွင့် မရရှိနေသည့်ကိစ္စမှာ အလွန်ဝမ်းနည်းဖွယ်ရာဖြစ်သည်။

လွတ်လပ်သောမြန်မာ့သုတေသနဂျာနယ်မှ စီစဉ်သည့် “ကချင်ရေးရာ” အလုပ်ရုံဆွေးနွေးပွဲသည် ကချင်လူနေမှုဘဝ၏ ကွဲပြားပြီး ကြွယ်ဝသောကဏ္ဍများကို တင်ပြရန်၊ ကချင်လူမျိုးများ၏ တစ်မူထူးခြားသော ယဉ်ကျေးမှု၊ သမိုင်းနှင့် ခေတ်ပြိုင်အတွေ့အကြုံ များကို ပိုမိုနားလည်သဘောပေါက်လာစေရန်နှင့် ကချင်လူမှုအသိုင်းအဝိုင်းအတွက် ပိုမိုသိရှိနားလည်မှုနှင့် ပံ့ပိုးကူညီမှုများကို မြှင့်တင်ရန်အတွက် ရည်ရွယ်ပါသည်။ အွန်လိုင်းမှတစ်ဆင့် ကျင်းပပြုလုပ်မည့် ဤဆွေးနွေးပွဲကို ၂၀၂၅ ခုနှစ်၊ နိုဝင်ဘာလ (၁) ရက်နေ့တွင် ကျင်းပပြုလုပ်သွားမည် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ဦးဆောင်ဆွေးနွေးသူများအနေဖြင့် မိမိတို့၏ သုတေသနပြုလေ့လာချက်များ ကို လွတ်လပ်သောမြန်မာ့သုတေသနဂျာနယ်မှ စီစဉ်ထုတ်ဝေမည့် “ကချင်ရေးရာ” အထူးထုတ်စာစဉ်တွင် ထည့်သွင်းဖော်ပြနိုင် မည့် အခွင့်အရေးကိုလည်း ရရှိနိုင်မည် ဖြစ်သည်။ ဆွေးနွေးမှုများကို ပညာရပ်ဆိုင်ရာ သမာရိုးကျစာတမ်းပုံစံနှင့် တင်ပြနိုင်သလို ထူးခြားသစ်လွင်သော တင်ဆက်မှုမျိုးဖြင့်လည်း သုံးသပ်တင်ပြနိုင်ပါသည်။ ဆွေးနွေးရာတွင်  အောက်ပါအကြောင်းအရာများ အပါအဝင် ကချင်ရေးရာနှင့် သက်ဆိုင်သည့် မည်သည့်အကြောင်းအရာအတွက်မဆို တင်ပြချက်များကို ကြိုဆိုပါသည်။

• ကချင်အနုပညာ၊ ဘာသာစကားနှင့် စာပေ

Call for Participants: Online Workshop on Kachin Narratives

The Kachin people and identity has long been a subject of study by foreigners. However, due to decades of civil war, aerial bombardment, and mass atrocities by the Myanmar military, Kachin people themselves have long struggled to represent themselves to, and publish their own opinions and scholarship to, the wider world, let alone contribute equally within the Myanmar public sphere. This is particularly tragic given the immense social, political, and environmental changes that have occurred within the Kachin community and to traditional lands of people who identify as Kachin. 

The “Kachin Narratives” workshop organized by the Independent Journal of Burmese Scholarship (IJBS) aims to provide a comprehensive platform to present the diverse and rich aspects of Kachin life, foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Kachin people’s unique cultural, historical, and contemporary experiences, and promote greater awareness and support for Kachin communities. This online workshop will be held on 1 November 2025. Workshop presenters will have the opportunity for their opinions or research to be included in an issue of IJBS dedicated to Kachin Narratives. Presentations can be policy papers, research papers, memoirs, or more creative reflections. We welcome presentations on any topic related to Kachin, including but not limited to:

• Cultural Heritage, Religion and Identity of Kachin
• The Situation of Kachin Sub-Ethnic Minorities within the Kachin Community
• The History of Kachin Revolution
• Kachin Perspective on Politics and Society
• Environmental Struggles and Land Rights in Kachin State
• Education, Economy and Livelihoods in Kachin State
• Arts, Languages and Literature of Kachin
