Tun Myint is a Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Carleton College, Minnesota, U.S.A. He earned his PhD in 2005 from the joint program of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs and the School of Law at Indiana University, Bloomington. In 2012 he published the monograph, Governing International Rivers: Polycentric Politics in the Mekong and the Rhine.  Tun Myint is a co-founder and board president of Mutual Aid Myanmar, an organization supporting the Civil Disobedience Movement, and is a co-founder and editorial board member of the IJBS.

Yucca Wai is Program Director at Exile Hub, an organization dedicated to supporting Myanmar human rights defenders and journalists in exile. She orchestrates research from inception to completion and integrates feminist theory with inclusive analysis to challenge established understandings and norms regarding gender dynamics in the Myanmar context.

Joseph Andersson holds a multifaceted role at Exile Hub, leading preliminary literature reviews, developing research methodologies, and conducting qualitative data analysis. Joseph focuses on bridging theoretical frameworks with practical action to drive sustainable on-the-ground interventions in the human rights sector.

Chan Min is also known as Thet Swe Oo. He graduated from the 14th intake of the Military Computer and Technological Institute. In 2019, he began serving as a sergeant at the Military Science and Technology Research Command. On 19 September 2021 he left the military to join the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).

Aung Myo Htet graduated from the 52nd intake of the Defense Services Academy (DSA) and was commissioned as an officer in 2009. He served as a platoon commander in various infantry and light infantry battalions. He left the military and joined the CDM on 17 October 2021.

Ye Khal is also known as Swan Htet Aung. He attended the 14th intake of the Military Computer and Technological Institute. He started serving as a sergeant in the Signal Corps in 2019. He joined the CDM on 19 September 2021.

Htun Zaw Myat served as sergeant under the No. 45 Navy Technology Command of the Mawyawaddy Navy Headquarters in Mawlamyine. He joined the CDM on 6 October 2021.

Htet Myat was born in Mandalay in 1990 and graduated from the 52nd intake of the DSA. On 10 June 2021, while serving as a third-class officer in the No. 21 Military Operations Command, he joined the CDM and defy the 2021 military coup. He continues to actively support soldiers wishing to join the CDM, helping them access liberated areas, providing financial assistance, food, safe housing, and rehabilitation. Along with his wife, Ma Su Thit, he co-founded the Blooming Padauk group and established Breaking Brainwashed Media to raise awareness of and advocate for soldiers breaking free from military propaganda.

Thet Paing is a native of Mindat, Chin State, and attended the third-level medical assistant course at the Defense Services Medical Training School (formerly the Central Medical Crops) in 2009. He began serving at the No. 10 Field Medical Battalion under the Northeastern Military Command in July 2013. He later advanced his medical training with second- and first-level medical assistant courses at the Defense Services Medical Training School in 2015 and 2018, respectively. From 2015 to 2018 he served in the Frontline Special Surgical Task Force. After refusing to support the 2021 military coup, he joined the CDM on 21 April 2022. He moved to Mae Sot, Thailand to provide support to the Chin Defense Force—Mindat and also serves as the joint secretary for the Higunglong Multi-Development and Generations of Mindat organizations.

Naung Yoe was a sergeant in the air force who left the Flying Training Base Command in Meiktila to join the CDM on 10 April 2021.

Maw Kun joined the CDM on 11 July 2021.Ma Su Thit was a hotel Sales and Marketing Manager before her husband Htet Myat left the military following the 2021 coup. She initiated the People’s Soldiers’ Wives Program from a liberated area to educate and encourage soldier’s wives to support their husbands to leave the military. In September 2021, she established Blooming Padauk to support women such as activists and single mothers who are revolting against military rule, offering education, rehabilitation, vocational training, and monthly food supplies. She co-founded Breaking Brainwashed Media in December 2021, launched in March 2022 to help soldiers overcome military propaganda and join the revolution.
