When the leaves housed upon branches,
dried up by summer,
after receiving rain,
grew and gleamed emerald-green.

While going here and there,
when a song fragment
of “Let It Fall” by R Zar Ni1
rushed and brushed into the heart.

When a bus carrying
many a pair of hearts
took a turn
on the ramp toward the Maha Bandula bridge
by the river breeze.

While walking
in the solitary streets of yore,
just when brown shadows
were growing long.

When I get to eat rice cold
with pungent ngapi-ye
for dinner
to heart’s content.
